This collection of free verse poetry explores perceptions of the world through the lens of an HSP; a highly sensitive person. This personality trait belongs to 15-20% of us – our nervous systems absorb and process ten times more information than the average person. We are more sensitive to subtleties, often over stimulated and, as you can guess, easily stressed. Though exhausting, and often misunderstood, this is, dare I say, a wild and wonderful super power. These poems are for those with big emotions and deep spirits, living in a noisy world.

When I was growing up, my Mom was a Nurse. I was inspired by her through those years, and today, in similar fashion, I am inspired and in awe of all front line workers, in health or other essential industries. Considering all that is going on in the world in 2020, it is my hope that everyone will have access to the support they need to deal with the emotional toll of this global crisis, and to find healing.

In this spirit, proceeds from Miss Perception sales in 2020, will be donated to the Canadian Mental Health Association.

Thank you for your support.
